Why Troy Shelley?

Why am I running?

As the former chair of the Sanpete County Republican Party, I saw my role is to find good candidates and help them get elected.

I realize that the extreme Left of the Democratic Party have no shame. They do not care if they are caught in a lie or required to acknowledge their indiscretions—they simply don’t care.

We cannot afford to elect “Single Issue Candidates”. I have a broad understanding of the environment, and how it is being used by the Left to control our power grid. I understand the goals of natural asset companies. I see the need to push back, or re-define, ESG, DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) is another avenue to attack and we need to consider what brings us together as one human family.

The science behind “global warming” has been hijacked. Its no different than Stolen Valor.  Scientists  research and provide data to  responsible government entities who then politicize and embellish their viewpoints and use the credibility of the scientific community to justify their statements.

When we elect legislators, we must elect those who can work with others who are elected as well. Arrogance is not a leadership quality that fosters partnerships and a cohesive relationship. We can’t do it alone. We must get support from other legislators and work to accomplish what is best for rural communities.

There can be no blurring of the lines between the Legislative, Executive and Judicial Branch’s of Government. Elections have consequences. We should all learn about those who are running for office. A Google search is a good start to find out more about candidates and issues.
